Drannor I sighed as the helicopter lowered towards the ground. It would not land as it was needed elsewhere straight away. About five meters from the ground it stopped and hovered. One of the other guys shifted my back out onto the ground for me and then I stood up and jumped out.
I landed easily on my feet I was used to this, after all, I'd been rained to jump out of these things for a while now.
Sighing I looked down at my right hand. Well what had been my right hand. All it was at the moment was a thick bundle of bandages, and not even remotely shaped like a hand was meant to be.

Sahar. Ashia. Nekana.
She waited. The soft silk of her skirt clung to her leg, the pastl browns and green suiting the red haired green eyed girl perfectly. Yet, the beauty was surronded by saddness, helplessness. What could she do? She would be strong...he needed her to be. He jumped to the ground, but she waited for him to come to her. It seemed like years, not months or weeks. "Drannor," she whispered and ran to him, throwing her arms around him and hugged him tightly, though being careful of his hand,

Drannor My arms opened automatically as I saw her coming towards her, I had missed her so much. I was glad though that she knew what had happened though, I could only have hoped that Auraka's girl friend would have told Sahar.
"Hey," I said quietly. "I've missed you."
My arms went around her and I gently kissed her red hair. Oh how I had missed her. I sighed, knowing that she would have been worried when i did not write back.
"I got that letter of yours, sorry for not writing back I couldn't."

Sahar. Ashia. Nekana.
No tears...no tears...she chanted to herself, refusing to cry for him. But his gentle touch and words broke down the walls and she sobbed, meeting his gaze. "I missed you," she whispered, resting her head against his chest and let the tears fall. A few moments past and the waterworks finally paused. "I thought you wouldn't get hurt..." she whispered, hugging him closely. The green eyes dropped, staring at the bandages once called hand. "How?" she simply asked. She only knew what Auraka had told Gem.

Drannor Silverleaf I sighed, hugging her tightly to me. Somehow i had been expecting this from her. At least I was not in too much pain, that had died down somewhat. That was though what they'd feared though, it meant my hand was dying.
"Ssh," I muttered, resting my head on hers while she cried. I looked down at my own ruined hand, and sighed heavily. I knew that this was not something easy to explain.
"I was out on the field and we had stopped for a moment while I reloaded my gun. None of us kept going when one of our group had to do that."
I paused.
"I'd almost finished reloading it when the bullet came out of no where and hit my wrist. It's severed several of the nerves."

Sahar. Ashia. Nekana.
She closed her eyes, able to see what he was saying. She sighed, forcing herself to stop being stupid. She glanced up at him and shook her head. "Your going to lose it...aren't you?" she asked softly. She was a doctor, she knew what that ment. She paused, wondering if any of the others had been injured.. "The others?"

Drannor Silverleaf I stared at my hand again, not really seeing it at all. So much i could tell her and yet most of it she would not like in the slightest. I thought for a few minutes about what to say to her about this. How to respond to her.
"That is what they say will happen. Most of my men won't come back alive unfortunately. I had a series of house calls to make once I've gotten myself out of the hospital. Families to tell that their boys wont come back alive. No easy thing, I can assure you."
I sighed. "Only one ofr two will come back out of the ten that went with me."

Sahar Ashia Nekana
She closed her eyes tightly, able to imagine the poor families. "Well...let us get you better," she said, forcing a smile as she took his one good hand and marched him to the car. "Don't worry, the girls in the office told me I could sign on you leave..." she said, opening his door and closing it behind him. She had to stay strong. Little did she know how much, in future times, she would live by that saying. "O.." she said but stopped, that could wait.

Drannor I let her push me around, I was so very tired. I however did carry my bag though, it was too heavy for her though. There was no way i would ahve let her carry that. Plus it carried a few things that I did not want anyone else touching. One being my own gun, i had to clean that before I took it back to the base. As soon as I was healed and back to normal they wanted me back out there in the fighting.
I'd tell her that one later. "I was told to go on leave for the time being while I recover. Only they want me back out there as soon as I'm back to normal. We're fighting a losing battle at the moment."

Sahar. Ashia.Nekana.
She slammed the breaks on in the car, staring at him in disbelif. "Drannor, you cannot be serious! You are going to go to war with what? One hand?" she asked and shook her head. "No no..." she murmrered and head butted the steering wheel and finally calmed down, driving though the army base car park and pulling into the street. She didn't speak agan.

Drannor Silverleaf Oh how I had expected her to yell at me. I blushed though, completely embarrassed. I deserved that one though.
"No, not with only one hand. Apparently they are willing to pay for me to get a replacement, since I'm hopeless with my left hand at anything. Thats why I did not write and tell you I was coming back, you would not have been able to read my writing."
I sighed.
"Unlike some of the other men, I am not ambidextrous."

Sahar. Ashia. Nekana.
She knew he might change his mind once she told him...but she didn't want to force him to change his mind. She made a split second descion and sighed. She wouldn't tell him, but he would surely guess...at least ask. She looked at him over her shoulder and giggled as he blushed. Never had she seen him blush and it was charming. "We shall see," she murmrered to herself and pulled up outside the hospital.

Drannor Silverleaf I was a little surprised at my own reaction to her yelling at me. Then again who would not have reacted the same way as I had?
"At least the hospital knows I am coming in. Though I think they are a little surprised that one of us got hit in such a place."
I sighed and got out of the car once we'd stopped moving.

Sahar. Ashia. Nekana.
She nodded, keeping her eyes on the road. She couldn't look at him, he would see right though her. He always did. She sighed, blinking quickly, as she thought. It as was if on each of her shoulders rested a creater, one good one bad. Each was whispering the plans into her head as if she was turning insane.
He needs to know. But you don't want to make him stay. You don't want to force him to stay. Your a cruel person, tell him. Don't tell him.
She shook her head with a jerk and jumped out of the car, opening his door. She would tell him. Just not yet.

Drannor Silverleaf I knew that she was worried about me, it was the only the only thing that made sense at the moment. There was nothing I was looking forwards to when it was in regard to my hand. I knew already that it was ruined beyond repair so when they said that it would be no blow.
"Hey, stop worrying about me," I siad. moving to walk beside her. My good arm went around her gently.
