She stared at him, as if he had grown another head and didn't reply for a moment. Finally regain her voice, she stuttered a few words. "You scared the crap out of me," she blurted out, taking his arm to look over it. Turning it over to look properly but not even a mark laced his skin. She ran a finger down his arm, feeling the muscles bunch under her finger. She knelt down, patting Max's head gently and did not mind the lick her nose got. "He's spectacular," she said standing once more and watched as the smaller female came out of the pen, being scooped into Jaspers arms. She had a thought, wishing it was her, and blushed a beetroot red but didn't speak. Instead she sunk to the ground, letting the dog sniff her before running a hand over her back and finally onto leg and checked the small paw. "And a cut," she said gesturing to the angry red mark on the foot. "Poor girl.":

Jasper Cullen "I'm sorry. I should have warned you." I sighed. "Though handling one dog is fairly easy. Sometimes at night, if someone needs a security guy to patrol for a few hours, Max and I will go out. When we're out and about you don't want to make us chase you. There are more things he can do, some of them not fierce at all. Saya baby ran off? I could send him after the infant, and he'd bring it back, unscathed."
I smiled. "He's well trained, but I rarely got out these days."
I smiled at her for a few moments, my hands running over my dogs foot and leg. "You know a bit about dogs do you?"
I sighed, looking at the cut. "Something did this and I know it was not one of the other dogs. They dont fight each other. I'm going to have a look in the dog yard. You want to come? They wont hurt you while I am around."

She blushed slightly at the question but nodded shyly. "I love animals...dogs mostly," she said quietly "but I've never had a pet before..." She bobbed her head. "Please," she said wanting to see inside of the pen herself.
One last pat on Jenny's soft silky coat, she stood and brushed the dirt from her knees.

Jasper Cullen. "Come on then." I got up, leaving the unhappy Jenny where she was. I would take her to the vet later. She was a good dog, and I hated seeing any of them hurt. "I'll head over to the vet later with the poor girl."
I sighed and unlocked the metal gate. All the dogs had their eyes trained on Casey, Molly and Mickey had a snarl on their faces. Max growled and they both turned to look at him.
"Quiet, Molly and Mickey!" I scolded, moving between them and Casey. That got them the message. I looked at casey. "I trained them so that if someone else is with me who they dont know in the area they have, and I block that person the way i just did, they know not to touch them."

She nodded in understanding, offering a hand to Max once more before rubbing his head. "Hello again Max," she said with a smile before stopping a short distance from Molly and Mickey who seemed to have friendier expressions now. "You have well trained dogs.." she said with a smile, remembering her dream as a child. She had always wanted to show dogs, she didn't care what type so long as it had four legs and that she could show it. She sighed at the memory, knowing she would never have the chance.

Jasper Cullen "I have known these guys for a long time. I took Max on when the police retired him, now I use him mainly for the times when people need someone patroling their land. of course, occassionally, the cops will call by and ask if they can borrow him and I'll take him out."
I smiled though. "I train them as the grow all the time." I chuckled, and then turned my gaze to the fencing. It would not take me long to find what ever had done this to my dog.
My eyes watched Max though, watching incase he hurt her. The big dog did not though, he just licked her and turned away. He seemed uninterested in worrying about her and I saw my other digs approach ehr as I moved along the fence.

Casey smiled brightly, letting the dogs sniff her before patting their soft, silken coats. From what Jasper had told before, she could put a name to each animal. "They are all so...gentle...for guard dogs," she said "though I guess not to people they guard from..." She had a thought, well more of a hope, that her exboyfriend would turn up and the dogs were set on him. She giggled in delight.,

Jasper Cullen "Believe me, if that idiot I happened to have a fight with earlier was to show up here, he would have to fun of it. You would not want to have these guys loosed on you. They know what to do when there is someone on my families land that is unwelcome. You cant out run them, as you saw eaarlier when I had Max attack me."
This time though I said the trigger word, 'attack' Max moved not. His ears perked, looking at me, but notihng else. "he didn't attack me this time because for one he knows when he'd to do so, only when I have that smelly suit on, and two, I did not just say one word, though he heard the word.
I continued to search the enclosure, trying to find what had hurt one of the dogs. Then I spotted a sharp part of the fence. Damaged in the storm earlier in the day by the looks of it.
"Found the thing that hurt her.." I sighed, then moved over to Casey. "Out!" It was not her I said it to, but the four dogs in the area. They all moved out of the area.
"Looks like they sleep in my room tonight. I'll fix that in the morning."

She blinked in suprise, stepping to move out of the cage but paused as the dogs went instead. "Oh," she said quietly, another blush creeping into her cheeks. How embarresing. "What other animals do you have here?" she asked, watching the dogs sit outside and wait for their owner.

Jasper Cullen I smiled as she figured out that I meant the dogs not her. "My rooms crowded tonight. Getting too dark to fix that broken fencing tonight though she they sleep up in the house."
I sighed.
Then I heard her question. "Alice, Rosalie and Bella, my sisters, own horses. Bella's a show jumper, Alice loves western events and Rosalie loves dressage. Their horses are bred for the events."
I smiled. "Emmett has a horse as well but he only uses it to move the cattle in the fields. Edward has a couple of racing greyhounds."

She nodded, hair falling around her face as she did so, and smiled hesantly. "You are all so lucky," she told him, following him slowly from the cage. She looked up at the house, seeing the the lights easily from where she stood and wondered where she would be sleeping. Not that she cared, one of there soft rich rugs would be enough to sleep on. Though, she smiled at the thought, the dogs seemed to have fancy beds and wouldn't even sleep on the rugs.

Jasper Cullen I chuckled when she said we were all lucky. "Not really. Carlisle is the one that brings home the money. he had to limit Alice's credit cards because she spends way too much on clothing and things."
I moved over and picked Jenny up careful not to bump her bad leg. She whimpered and licked my cheek. All my dogs followed me back, though I walked beside Casey. One large hand easily opened the back door and I headed up the stairs into my room.
Though Jenny was a heavy dog, I was not even sweating though I had just climbed up two staircases with her.

She followed him lightly up the stairs, refusing to give into the pain of her ribs and ignored it completely.
As they walked, she still looked around the house in awe. It was all so...beautiful and perfect. If she had a house half as good as this, she would be happy for life. But you wont, she told herself, so don't even think about it.

Jasper Cullen Though she was silent as she followed after me, I did not comment. This house was big and there were a lot of expensive things in the hallways. Just then a bronze haired boy, two years younger than me stuch his head out. "Can your dog not be any quieter!" He called. "Sorry Edward. They're only inside for the night. Their home's damaged." He cussed and shut the door. I looked back at Casey. "Sorry bout him. Edwards my youngest brother." He was still a little immature which annoyed me a lot.

Casey flashed a smile. "That's okay," she told him quietly and rubbed Jenny's head as she came to stand beside him. The injured dog licked her hand and Casey giggled slightly. If anyone, she found, she could relate to animals.
