Alexa Collins I smiled as Lily moved off to her room. At least she was learning and that was a good thing for the two of us to see for the time being. I loved her too much. "Sara and June will be here sometime this morning so I guess we dont have much time to do everything that you think we have to."
I chuckled. "We best get to work and quickly too. June did not give me a particular time that she would be bringing Sara, only that it would be sometime this morning." Hopefully not too soon.

He nodded but took Alexa's hand gently, smiling. "I had an idea for her.....for her birthday...I have a friend, he is selling a little Welsh Pony," he said quietly "bombproof...only around 13hh...and you'll never guess her name," he chuckled, letting her hand go and moving to start cleaning. "It would be good for her...also if her mothers a gold medal rider, she should be able to ride," he grinned cheekly. Washing the plates, he dried them and pecked Alexa's cheek as he moved to put them away.

Alexa Collins I chuckled softly as he said the last thing. "We'd have to check it out beforehand though. not that I'm in any way against the idea of that for a present. Though isn't she a little young?" There was that one doubt in my mind about the idea.
She was still only a toddler and the pony sounded a little big. Trust me to be the one who would be worried about the idea a little. "It sounds alright I guess but like I said, I'd rather see it before we buy." I did not want Lily knowing.

He shook his head lightly, but smiled. "I already spoke to him about it...he said we can go around tomorrow if we want," Kayson chuckled, wipping down the last of the bench. "By the way...the ponies name is Paula..." he said quietly "Paula's Rose is her show name..." He kissed her hair as he moved past lightly, replying to Lily's cry of help.

Alexa Collins I stared at him for a while with wide eyes, not able to move. Had he just said Paula? That was my mothers name... Shock seemed to spread through my body, making me not even want to move. It was hard even after three years to hear her name. Something that could not be normal. Yet even the rest of the pony's name added to that shock.
Her favorite Thoroughbred's name, the one who had sadly thrown her that fatal time was Rose's Redoute. That was something else as well.
"Paula's Rose?" I managed to stammer.

He re-entered the room Lily sitting on his hip and chatting to both herself and him, but seeing Alexa's face he gently set her on the ground and asked her to go play. With slow, careful strides he went to her, his huge arms wrapping around her smaller form. "Yes," he murmered, holding her close. He knew about her mother, she was a female racer after all. Not many female racers were actually at a high level, not counted as good enough. Though, he did not know the horses name...the one that killed her.

Alexa Collins I took two deep breaths as he came back out. My eyes watched numbly as Lily went off to play again. He knew there was something wrong. Normally I went and helped Lily. Not the other way around. For a moment i stood there the same as I was when he first said the name.
"Roses Reduote was the name of the racehorse that threw my mother that one time that was fatal." I gulped. "Her favorite mare out of all of the horses she ever was the jockey for as well."
Somehow I managed to hide th tears that threatened me.

He burried her into his chest, holding her closely and cursed himself for being such an idiot. "I'm sorry Alexa...I'll call Jate...tell him not to worry," he said slowly, seeing that she was close to tears. She was such a strong person, her life was a mess and she was such a wonderful being. His large hands rubbed circles on her back, his voice saying soothing words.

Alexa Collins I smiled. "No, dont do that. You just got me by surprise. I just never thought i would hear those words again, thats all."
he shouldn't ruin the idea because of one little reaction. "I'll get used to the name, dont worry." I smiled, a lot calmer now.

He shook his head, sighing quietly. "Honey, I am not going to buy a horse for Lily if the name upsets you...its not fair on you," he murmered kissing her forehead before meeting her gaze. "There is plenty more ponies we could look at...there is a shetland for sale up the road," he said quietly, blinking slowly and smiling slightly. "Okay?"

Alexa Collins "We'll look around alright? no need to decide anything for a few days. Plus we'll be heading out of the country the day after her birthday. All of us will." I smiled at him. "Its not going to be any sort of disadvantage me. I can get used to names. beleive me I hardly recognise myself anymore. You have no idea the kind of a life I had before I met you. I'm so different now. Anything seems possible for me now, when before it did not."
I chuckled. "What else needs doing? June wont be far away by now."

He smoothed her cheek with his gentle hands, smiling into her eyes. The sea green orbs crinkled slightly, an old habit when he smiled. "Okay," he said gently and looked around the almost clean house. "Hmm...not much," he said, giving her a another quick hug before the bell rang. "That will be Sara..""

Alexa Collins
I chuckled as he said that; I was definitely glad that there was not all that much left to do around the apartment. I had told June where she could find me. “Good thing she came into the morning I'm going to be out training this afternoon.” I was not laying off with the training any time soon. The games were too close for me to take it easy. I always got this way when a competition was almost upon me.
I chuckled though hearing the doorbell. Then I walked over to answer it. There was nothing I was happier about right now than having Sara here to stay with us for a while I was sure that this time, we would not dissapoint June. She knew I cared about Sara, but not as much as I really did. I was not just doing this for myself, but for Sara and Justin as well.
I opened the door and smiled. “Hi June.” Then I looked down and smiled at Sara. “Nice to see you again, Sara.” There was nothing but open politeness and kindness in my voice as I spoke to them both respectively. For once I actually felt like I knew what I was getting Kayson and myself into. I knew Sara probably better than anyone else except June. Kayson would learn to know her soon enough.
“Come on in.”

Kayson. James. King.
He squeased her hand lightly as she walked past, knowing only to well what she was thinking and feeling. They hadn't been together for to long, but they already knew each other inside out. His kind ocean green eyes roamed over the pair, smiling warmly. The girl, Sara, shifted shyly and smiled hesantly back. While June seemed tired, upset and annoyed. "Hello Alexa...Kayson..." she said, guessing this was her boyfriend. She ran a hand though her thick hair and shook her head. "I can't Alexa....Brody is in hospital...fell out of a tree the silly boy," she said and bent down, kissing Sara's cheek. "I'll have to come later..." she murmered and Sara nodded shyly once more.

Alexa Collins My eyes widened as she said what happened to one of the other kids. "I can understand that June. Is he alright?" Poor kid, that would have hurt falling out of any tree. I'd done that once as a child, but no one needed to know about that.
Sometimes boys did the most silly things and never seemed to learn from their mistakes, not that again I would say anything. This was going to be an intersting time for me.
