Alexa Collins I shut off the car and walked up to our apartments. I was staying at Kayson's house at the moment, so that was easy enough as it was only across the hall from my own house. I knocked and then unlocked the door. I did not have to wait for him to answer these days.
"I'm home Kayson," I called, heading into the bathroom to get changed out of my sweaty riding clothes. I always did, because I knew I stank. Not in a bad way though, just a lot like manure and things.
I would talk to him about Sara tonight.

Kayson. James. King.
He broke into a grin, hearing her voice as he pushed away from the laptop computer. As much as he loved the chinese, he had spent to long writing this thesis and it was starting to drive him mental.
"Hey sweetie," he called, following her strides into the bathroom. "How was riding?" he asked, thinking about what he would be cooking for dinner tonight. Maybe Chinese? Alexa seemed to like that...

Alexa Collins "Alright though there was a bit of an upset with one of the kids. Which is something i wanted to talk to you about actually." I turned to face him, completely changed.
"One of the adults, June, who looks after Sara, wants to get Sara to move one. I did not want that to happen as that little girl has a lot of potential. She was going to get her to sell Justin. I had a talk to her and gave her a couple of ideas that she could try instead of breaking the girl's heart."

Kayson. James. King.
He broke into a grin, already guessing the name of the child. She was one of Alexa's most talented and favourite students. She spoke very fondly of the 8 year old. "Hmm," he said, wondering what this had to do with him. It was a shame, but there was nothing they could do....was there? "Come sit at the table," he said pulling her arm gently, the bathroom was no place to talk of things.
He kissed her cheek, and sat beside her. "Now, please explain what this has to do with us....other then the fact she is your student," he said calmly. He would do what he could, but he could only do so much.

Alexa Collins I took a deep breath and then spoke to him again. "I did not want to see her have to leave Justin, so I made June an offer. At first she did not like the idea, and we had a bit of an arguement, but I managed to convince her at least. Basically I asked her to let Sara stay here for a month or something like that and then come and see her. If Sara was unhappy, then she could take her and I would buy Justin from them. But if Sara was happy, then June would let her live here with us."

He listened without talking, playing with her hand and the ring on her finger as he waited. "So...you are planning on adopting an 8 year old girl...with a pony and troubles?" he asked then chuckled lightly. "Oh Alexa, this is why I love you. You never stop caring," he said gently and kissed her but sighed. "But...do you think we are ready? Taking on a child...even a 8 year old is a big task...even bigger with ones with a bad past.." he asked, up for the idea yet unsure slightly

Alexa Collins I looked at the table for a while. he forgot that I had a bit of a bad past as well. There were things about me that he did not really know. Things that I had never said a word about. "She trusts me." I knew i was hiding things from him, but i did not know that he would like hearing about the thigns that troubled me. I never really was happy, most of it was an effort to hide who I really was. Who I had been made by my father. "I look after James a lot. Talila's incapable of doing so herself."

He knew she was hiding something, he had guessed for all the time they had been together. He could read her easily, but he would let her tell him with time. "Alexa...you would be a great mother. You are trust worthy, loving, caring...but taking on a child, well it is a big task. I just want you to be sure, I love children...you know that," he said gently, meeting her gaze. "I think it is wonderful that you care so much, and if you think she will be happy with us...well why not give it a shot," he chuckled slightly, thinking. "She can have a room at our new house, she can help us paint it all if she wants."

Alexa Collins I smiled at him. Sure I seemed cheery and great but no one would know the secrets I hid within myself. not until they showed again, and I knew that was not going to be far off.
"I'll let her know when she calls in a couple of days."
Then I shifted over to him and hugged him. I would never deserve someone like him. Never. I knew that and never would forget it. nothing would ever change that for me. I would never forgive my father for what he had done to me in the past.

He pulled her closer, kissing the top of her head softly and sighed. "Alexa...you know I would never ask you...but something seems wrong," he said quietly "You can trust me...I am here to talk if you need me..ok?"
He kissed the top of her head once more, he had always loved her natural colour and how silky it was. It always had that slight smell of the barn as well. He would wait. Forever and a day if he had to. He would never push it from her, no matter how much he wanted to know.

Alexa Collins I knew that my past would ahve to be told to him one day. From the day my motehr had died, my father had not cared for me as one of his kids. No I was the housewife to him. If he wanted something, I was expected to give it to him, no matter what it was, or he had hit me. I sighed and then looked at him. "I may as well tell you. It's wrong of me to hide this all from you." I paused, taking a deep breath. "You know that my mother died and since then I have been looking after my mother and sister. Well it has not been an easy thing to do. The day my mum died, dad forgot I was his daughter, and not my mum. I was forced into that place, what my mum was to him. Only I think he knew i was not her, because if I did not get him or do do something he wanted, no matter how bad, and some of it was bad, he would hurt me." I sighed. "He even did things that no adult should do to a child." My head lowered as my eyes brimmed with tears.

Kayson. James. King.
His free arm clenched with anger towards the man. How could he? To a child! "Alexa.." he murmered, pulling her closer into him. He had never pushed her to do anything, nothing she had ever not asked for. He put a finger under her chin, lifting her face to meet his gaze. "Alexa, you will never see that man again...nor will your brother and sister," he said firmly, whiping away her tears with a gentle touch. They should report him as well, get him put away for good.

Alexa Collins I leaned into him, completely overcome by my own grief for a long while. I knew there was more he ought to know. It took me a while to calm myself down though, before I could tell him.
"Thats not all. He knows that something he said the day i moved out really is coming true as he meant it to. He cursed me once, called me bad luck. And look at us, my brother got kidnapped, I got cancer. Both are bad things. I ignored him at the time when he cursed me, but now, something makes me think that he was right."

He hugged her tightly, knowing she was far from finished. He was here for her now, here for her to trust and love. With soothing circles he rubbed her back, letting her speak at her own pace.
"Oh Alexa...you are not a curse, nor bad luck. You are the best thing that ever happened to me...and James is safe and sound," he kissed her forehead lightly. "You are a pray...a wish come true, no curse is bonded to your fair skin," he said gently.
"For what he did...we can take Talila and James away from him...put him in jail if you wish," he said after a long pause.

Alexa Collins I smiled at him a little bit. "You can see why he and I do not get along these days. We never have since mum died. I;m not anything to him. though he loves my siblings. Something has to be done about him though. I do not like seeing him living with them. I dont want him to do anything like he did to me, to Talila at all."
I sighed, I was certainly one who never forgot things, just like an elephant.
