Abigail Parker She clutched her 'neices' hand tight as they walked through the supermarket. Once again, Abigail's sister was off doing some insane errand, and Abigail was in charge of Kaylen again. Not that she minded. The girl gave her something to think about other than death, dying, and pain. It gave her a new perspective on life, actually, which made her happy. She hadn't been happy for a while, she couldn't quite remember why. She had been living in a dream world from what she could remember-and there had been this amazing prince charming; he couldn't possibly exist for real... The little girl tugged on her hand, pulling her out of the maze in her mind. She smiled as she looked at what the little girl was pointing to. She knelt down and hugged the little girl. "Kayleen, we're not going in Hot Topic. Your mom sent us to Gymborree to get you some new clothes..."The little girl was pulling her hand, and she couldn't resist a good look through the store, so she let the little girl pull her in.

He had never been the same, not since that day. Sure he was still the same kind, caring guy. But his heart, well it only had room for one. Despite the age difference between them, and only a few weeks together, he had fallen to hard for her to get himself back together. And it was just over a year later.
He sighed, pushing the trolley down the isle's of the supermarket, grabbing a few, small but needed items. His hand froze mid-extend, hearing the voice which had once been so familar. It couldn't be. He pushed the trolley around the corner, eyes searching widenly for her. "Abby," he breathed, seeing her. She was older now, more mature it seemed.
His eyes lowered at a softer voice, and for the first time he noticed the child by her side. It was clear it was her's, for they looked so much alike. So she had moved on? He stood, frozen to the spot and unable to decide what to do now.

Abigail Parker and Kayleen Sierra
The little girl paused, hearing another voice. She had heard the voice say her aunt's name, and so she quickly turned. There was Lee, staring at the two of them. Kayleen pulled away from Abigail running toward Lee. "Daddy!" She squealed, running over and hugging his leg.
Abigail gasped as the little girl pulled away from her, turning to look at the man that her niece had run over to. She gaped for a moment, not recognizing him as anything more than the man of her fairytale dreams. She took a deep breath and walked over to her neice, pulling her off the man's leg, looking up to Lee and trying to lock gaze with him, hoping she'd find the answer in his eyes. "I-I am so sorry sir, I do not know what my niece is doing." Her eyes were a mix of confusion and desire, her heart skipping beats as she clutched the little girl's hand tightly. I should know him, why don't I remember him?

He looked down, suprised to see the girl clinging to him, but no matter what he had always loved kids. "Hello sweetie," he murmered, smiling down at her cute little face.
His head lifted as she spoke, for he knew it was her. No one else had that voice. "I-I am so sorry sir, I do not know what my niece is doing." He blinked, his eyes searching her face in silence before he nodded slightly. "No no, its fine," he said smiling the crooked smile he always did. But then he noticed her wording. Niece? He looked at the child once more, unable to find a way it did not look like her. "Leabhar," he said, offering a hand "but call me Lee."
What had happened to her? Why didn't she remember him?

Kaylen and Abigail
The little girl beemed up to him. "Annabel Lee!!!" She giggled and hugged her 'aunt' again, hiding behind her as if she was afraid. She peeked around her knee again and giggled.
Abigail stared at his hand for a moment, recognition flickering in the back of her mind. Timidly, she reached out and touched it, letting him pull her up. But she knew she'd felt his touch before, and it wasn't just from a hand shake. Lee... She knew that name. "I-I'm Abigail. Have we met before? I get this odd feeling I know you..."

He shook her timid hand gently, unable to stop the flood of relief that filled him at the touch. "You could say that," he replied to her question and peered down at the giggling child and smiled at the name Annabel Lee. "And whats your name?" he asked her, squatting slightly she he was at her level.

Abigail and Kaylen
Abigail smiled as the man who called himself Lee knelt down and was talking to Kaylen. She felt like she should remember him, but she couldn't place it.
The little girl giggled and hid behind Abby's leg even though she responded. "Kaylen Sierra Fior. Mommy says my daddies last name was Fior. She thought it was pretty even though daddy isn't around, so she let me keep it."
Kara
This wasn't the way today was supposed to be going. First the store was out of smokes, and now this. She stood outside the doors of the mall starring at the scene unfolding. There he was. The dad. Lee. The friggin son of a bitch that nearly got Abby killed in the first place. Even if she was trying to change her life, she still had a gun in her purse. She could either shoot him now...or... She threw the door open, not looking at her sister and her neice. "Lee, over here, now." She said before her sibling could even focus on her, she stood behind the pillar so they couldn't look at her. Shiiit...what the hell am I going to do...

He froze. Barely able to breath let alone move. She was his? He had a daughter? A beautiful...one year old daughter.
His eyes lifted, looking at Abby and was about to ask something...but it was clear she didn't remember him. What had happened to her? His beautiful Annabel Lee. He span as someone called his name, noting her sister becoming to him and smiled warmly at the pair. "I'll be right back," he promised, before heading over to Kara. She better have a bloody good reason for all this.

Kara
She growled under her breath as he came over to her, grabbing him and pulling him aside pinning him against the wall. She pulled the gun out of her purse and pressed it up against his chest. "What the hell do you think you're doing!" She could see it in his eyes though, he already knew that Abby didn't remember. She grumbled, putting the gun away. "Give me a damn cigarette and I'll explain. And if you don't have some, go buy me some, or instead of a cigarette I'll be lighting your hair on fire as I blow out your brains!" She glared at him, tapping her foot. "HURRY UP! And don't let them see you."

He let himself move easily, knowing better to fight with her. Her threats she would follow though with, he knew that much.
He listened to her words dumbly, still to shocked to do much else but listen. Without a word, he turned and headed towards the counter. "Pack of cigarettes please," he said and the man nodded, pushing it across the counter as he payed.
He headed back to Kara, still wondering how this had all happened. It had only been one night. One beautiful night...but he had never seen her again. He shoved the small box at her, and spoke right away. "Is that my daughter?"

Kara
Before she even answered his question, after she had taken the pack of cigarettes, she smacked him rather hard upside the head. It would leave a dull ache for a moment, but nothing permanent or long lasting. She turned away from him and lit up a cigarette, taking a long puff on it. "Yes, that's your daughter. And god damnit, that woman in there better be your wife by the end of the month, or you won't be having any more kids." She turned to him, lowering her cigarette to the croutch of his pants. "I'll get you drunk and tie you to a bed post and burn them to a crisp with cigarette butts, just to give you an idea of why you won't be having any more kids." She really needed to start working on that new life, but when the man of her sister's dream walks back in asking questions, she turned away again, taking another long drag on her cigarette. "She loves you, damnit. Somewhere in that addled brain of her she loves you. You're the only thing she has to live for. Every morning she keeps telling me this dream she keeps having of some brown haired green eyed irish boy making love to her in the forest by our old house. That's all it is to her anymore though, a dream. Because damnit, she doesn't remember." Tears spilled down her cheeks and her hands began to shake as she raised the cigarette to her lips again. She didn't see Kaylen running toward them and Abby opening the door. "She was in an accident Lee. She was in a coma for a week and she doesn't remember shit past age 13. She doesn't remember her own brother getting shot by his lover or Cameron nearly killing her and you and me saving her ass by kidnapping her. She doesn't even remember being pregnant. She thinks Kaylen is mine..."
Kayleen just grinned as she ran out to Kara and hugged her leg, grinning up at her aunt. There was some odd recognition in her eyes, as if she'd known the whole time.
And Abby stood at the door, holding it open staring at her sister. She still didn't remember a damned thing, but at least she could tell why she felt like she knew Lee. Why she was closer to Kaylen then her sister was. "L-" She started to say Lee's name, as if she was slipping back into her dreamworld before she stumbled and fell backwards, fainted.

"I wanted to the moment I met her," he told her honestly. "I never wanted to harm her.....or give her a child." He shook his head, trying to piece all the facts together.
Instead of asking more questions, he bent slightly and looked at Kaylen gently. "Hello Kaylen," he said quietly wondering what he should tell her. He looked to Kara, hoping she would know what to tell her.
His eyes flickered up to Abby, all the love and hope he had for her, shining there once more. She started to say his name, but fainted. He lept forwards, barely catching her in his strong arms. "Oh my Abby," he murmered, looking down at her soft face.

Kara, Kaylen, Abby
Kara looked at her sister forlornly, knowing her amnesia was all her fault. If she hadn't been trying to teach that idiot that had passed her on the right in the first place, her sister wouldn't have gotten hurt. She'd still remember this charming guy that seemed like he'd do anything in the world for her. She smiled down at Kaylen, rubbing her head. "She's too young to remember it anyway. She's only one. You still have time to pretend like you were always there." She smiled down to the girl, hugging her head against her leg. She wanted one of her own one day, when her life made more sense and she didn't keep having to threaten death on people to keep her family safe. "Let's go get some ice cream, Kiddo." She took Kayleen's hand and left Abby and Lee alone.
Abby's eyes fluttered, and her breathing became labored. Her eyes seemed to flick back and forth under her lids, as if she was remembering a nightmare. When finally she awoke, tears streamed down her face and she clung to Lee's arm, holding onto him. "I can't remember. I can't remember...just the crash, but I can't remember..."

He looked up from Abby's face, nodding slightly to Kara in thanks. Despite the threatening everyone in sight thing, she would make a good person. A good mother.
"Shhh," he whispered to her, wiping the tear tracks from her cheek and kissed her forehead gently. "Its okay," he said and thought of something that might calm her down and help her remember. The note he had written, all those months ago.
"In visions of the dark night I have dreamed of joy departed But a waking dream of life and light Hath left me broken-hearted.
Take this kiss upon the brow! And, in parting from you now, Thus much let me avow You are not wrong, who deem That my days have been a dream" He whispered the words in a singsong voice, brushing the hair from her eyes and was unable to believe how much she had gone up and so quickly.

Abigail
She knew that poem, she knew those lines. But on the beating of a blackbird's wings, she couldn't remember Lee. But wait, what was that noise? She turned her head from Lee, watching the sky. A raven flew on the breeze, clutching something shiny in his beak. In his claw was a piece of crumbled up paper. Even he looked forlornly at Abigail, wanting her to remember as he dropped a zipper and the crumbled peices of paper at her feet. Abigail reached out to touch him, but he flew away. He'd follow the bread crumbs home eventually, if she remembered to leave them out. Abigail looked to Lee, then to the papers. Timidly, she grabbed for the zipper, remembering the feeling of it ripping against her skin. Vaguely she began to remember the feel of his hands against her bare flesh, but not his face. "I-I loved you, and you loved me, right? I think I'd like that again..." She whispered softly, reaching for the pieces of paper. One was more crumbled than the other, one the words ran down the page, but it was still readable. Hey, let's go for a ride; down to the graveyard in town. Where no one goes anymore, because no one's alive that knew any of the dead there. So, come on, hope in, I hear there's a ghost there. Come on honey, don't you trust me? There's room in the trunk for you to even bring a friend, I'll just need a bigger shovel. She looked back up to Lee, a questioning look in her eyes. "Prophyria? I lost my hat, didn't I?" She turned and looked back to the other paper. She remembered now, their first meeting. On the beach. Softly, she murmured the question she had asked him. "If I asked you nicely, would you drown me in the sea? My soul would float amongst the waves-perhaps I could find a nice reef and become a manna ray. They swim so beautifully, like the beating of wings under water..." Finally her shaking hand rested on the paper, and she felt her heart flutter. Maybe she didn't remember pieces, but if she could just remember this one, this one magnificent man... "In visions of the dark night I have dreamed of joy departed But a waking dream of life and light Hath left me broken-hearted.
Take this kiss upon the brow! And, in parting from you now, Thus much let me avow You are not wrong, who deem That my days have been a dream
'Twas noontide of summer, And mid-time of night; And stars, in their orbits, Shone pale, thro' the light
For her this rhyme is penned, whose luminous eyes, Brightly expressive as the twins of Leda, Shall find her own sweet name, that nestling lies Upon the page, enwrapped from every reader.
It was many and many a year ago, In a kingdom by the sea, That a maiden there lived whom you may know By the name of ABBYLEE; "
Her eyes lit up as she read it, and she turned to him again, kissing him gently on the lips. She remembered now, at least enough to know she loved him. Enough to know that his hands had carressed her, and that was their daughter. "I have waited long and lonely to see your face, if I had waited longer I might forget your taste, your sweet lips on mine like heaven divine, the three words that cross so many a lips do my feelings justice naught, but I will say them short and sweet, I love you." She kissed him again, pressing her lips into his again as they did nearly two years ago. Tears still ran down her cheeks, for though she loved this man, she couldn't remember all of it-but perhaps it was best she couldn't, for the shortness of their time together might scare this new Abigail. Hopefully though, Lee would still love her, even if she was a little saner.
