Age: Twenty-two
Gender: Male
Family:
Mother:Description:
The person Dave respects the most is his mother, although he hasn’t seen her since early childhood, he remembers the kind, driven woman who single-handedly raised him.
Father:
The need to prove himself to his father was his most sought after goal despite this their relationship was poor and after leaving home as a teenager they have not remained in contact.
Grandparents:
Both sets of his grandparents are alive but aside from festive holidays in his early childhood he hasn’t seen any of them. His memories of them are vague and sometimes he believes they are false noticing how much they resemble scenes from television.
Other Relatives:
Both of his parents were only children, Dave is also an only child, he hasn’t met any distant relatives.
As a child Dave was the image of rich little boy. His parents dressed him up in smart clothing, at times even suits, and his immaculate black hair was always parted from the side and gelled into place. His soft blue eyes were wide and round, slightly large in his oval-shaped face, but always hidden by slim rectangular frames. Dave's skin was tanned from endless days spent by the pool situated on the lawns of the manor house owned by his father's boss.History:
The boy grew into an awkward teenager. With a slim body and gangly limbs his movements became clumsy and awkward, his features followed behind slowly, his mouth and eyes still childish in a semi-matured face. The days spent by the pool were replaced by everlasting study sessions in a stuffed up school library. His previous tan faded into an almost unhealthy pale colouring and his flawless black hair instead of being parted was gelled back and slightly too long for any respectable person of society to have it. The blue-eyed teen’s clothing style was no longer chosen by his parents’ and for simplicity sake he spent the majority of his time in his school uniform.
The man was almost unrecognisable from the child. Finally his features had matured, dark narrow eyes in a long face, a lop-sided smile just above a slightly pointed chin. His chin-length hair was tussled and untamed, bleached a shade of blonde that was pretty much white, the past amounts of gel were gone. Fed up with his irritating glasses he'd replaced them with contacts. His limbs were no longer overly large for his body and his actions became fluid and smooth once more. His tendency to wear long coats and dark clothes turned many heads and suspicious glances in the street. The slightly unhealthy colouring of his skin paled even further until it was classed as sickly, his cheeks were sunken in his face and his large hands shook when lifted.
As the child of a successful vice-president to a worldwide company his childhood wasn’t one that lacked anything…in material possessions. From wide plasma screens, multiple indoor and outdoor pools, the latest gadgets and gizmos, hell his parents even owned their own island that he could fly to anytime.Personality:
His mother had been there at the beginning of his life, caring and raising him with kind smiles and soft words. Then he’d grown up, learnt to walk and talk, he didn’t need constant looking after. So like last night’s dream she’d faded away. She said she’d wanted to go back to her job overseas. The black-haired boy failed to understand her reasons.
From that point his life had been unbearably lonely. That man had been there, his light glowing from underneath the crack of the door even during the early hours of the morning, Dave had at first sought him out for company, but the hunched over figure had just yelled at him to go away, eyes glazed with fury at the decreasing figures on the screen, fingers flying madly across the keyboard, curses spewing from his mouth, the phone glued to his ear as his boss calmly ordered him on what to do in such a situation. What the situation was…he didn’t understand that either.
When his father wasn’t working he was at some work-related event, these events were usually hosted by the company president. Dave was always brought along to boost customer relations; it seemed they couldn’t resist a cute kid, especially when he gushed about how awesome the company was. Did he understand what the company was about? No. Did you understand what he was actually saying? No. But for those small moments in time his father actually looked at him, full of pride and acknowledgement, and just to have that happen Dave would lie until his tongue bled.
Then his father had enrolled him in a prestigious private school many miles away from his home and several years passed without any contact from his family. Even for the summer holidays he stayed, holed up in the library head buried in the books because his dream was to become somebody his father would willingly look at.
From that point his life slipped away from his control. Studying became more important than his health and having been a child with a poor immune system he became sick easily. It was within the time that he was hospitalised that he quickly became a disappointment in his father’s eyes.
They allowed him to retake his exams the following year and his endless studying worked because he managed to pass pretty decently but not even this could revise his father’s opinion. So he’d simply stopped caring.
With this mindset Dave refused to get a job and instead decided to throw his parents’ money on useless things that he really didn’t need. A house many times to big for a person who lived on their own and possessions that he never once used, despite wasting their money they didn’t care, they possessed an amount where such a things didn’t even put a dent in what they’d earned.
Running out on things to spend the money on he began spending the majority of time gambling it away. It was in this ‘career’ that he began to notice things, they way people talked, they way they moved, how they lied and how easily they broke when he took their money away from them. It was the first thing induced amusement in him, so his main goal in gambling became bankrupting the other people, at the same time his own funds increased, and it wasn’t money he’d simply taken from his parents account but money he’d actually earned himself. It felt great.
Life was all an act so in the end it was alright to lie and steal because soon the curtain would come down and the show would end.
Dave is a driven person whose main influence is the need to fulfil his goals. He’s disdainful towards life deeming it worthless and a game, where the winner is the person who comes out on top, even if it means cheating and standing on people to get there. He can put up a polite and kind face without the feelings behind it and views others as pawns to win the game. His most powerful desire is the need to prove himself, he hates to be looked down upon and enjoys seeing people’s failure. Dave believes a person should never show weakness to others despite this he easily takes advantage of those weaknesses.Picture - Optional:
