Sahar. Ashia. Nekana. The red hair rested over her shoulder, the dark green eyes staring at the mail box outside the window. It had been 3 days, she knew she was most likely being stupid...but it was just like her to worry. "Come on Drannor.." she whispered and bit her tounge as the mailman drove past. He paused at her mail box, dropping a bundle of letters for her before driving off once more. She bolted out the door, grasping at handle on the box before finally getting it open. Her hands shook lightly, sorting though it. "Card..bills...bills...bills..." she said, heart getting heavier as the pile got smaller. Finally, she froze, staring at the small envople before it. It was his small, neat handwriting on the crisp white card. "Oh," she said, trembling fingers rushing to open it.

Drannor
I sighed as I wrote the letter.
Sahar, Not much yet to tell you at the moment. I've only just gotten here and won't be fighting until tomorrow. However the sunset that I can see is so beautiful. The skies alive with waves of red, prange and dark purple. You would not beleive how amazing it is to see such a thing.
I miss you a lot already and can only hope that hearing back from you may help with that. There are a lot of men here and they all know who I am and why I am here,
I miss you,
Drannor

Sahar Ashia Nekana. The fingers shook as they wrote the reply. She wouldn't tell him how worried she had been...just...missing him.
Drannor,
It is good to hear from you and to know that you are safe and well. Your neighbour keeps ringing me...asking how you are and when you will back. I have lots more to write...but I am sure you are busy so you can wait until you get back..
I miss you to much to write..and hope that you are going to return soon.
Love
Sahar

Drannor
he sighed as he read the short letter from her. Then he wrote back to her.
Sahar
I know that you are worried about me, but that is only natural. The fighting's started and even as I write this I can hear people cursing as they see their freinds falling to someone's bullet. A lot of people have come in injured since i got here and I fear that we are losing.
Do not hide the fact that you are worried about me, it is only natural for you to be feeling such things for me. No misfortune has touched me yet and I know that I will stay safe.
Tomorrow I must fight again, and though I do not like killing other humans, after we're all humans no matter where we come from, I know that this has to be done.
I miss you and I love you,
Drannor

Sahar Ashia Nekana The hand shook and she was unable to stop herself from crying slightly. The blue ink started to smudge so she pressed it to her heart before writing her reply. She was suprised at him, it was always 'Sahar' there was no 'dearest' or 'love' but she wasn't to suprised...Drannor wasn't one for much emotion.
Dearest Drannor,
I do not worry much, in fact only when I have a spare moment. Janie has kept me company, though I still long for you. You We will win, for all of us are cheering for you to bring peace to the peoples hearts.
I know I do not write much, but I have never been good at writing. I have so much more to tell you..but it can wait until you return.
Stay safe. You hold my heart, return it to me.
Sahar

Drannor I sighed things were getting harder for all of us. Too many were fighting and dying. Soon there were going to be only few left. We needed Auraka here now. What I could do was not helping matters here at all. I sighed.
Dear Sahar, I know you are worried about me, and to be honest I am not so sure if we can win this. This opponent we have is very strong and almost impossible to even get at long enough to hit him. Feels like we're almost surrounded here.
I miss you heaps and am glad that one of your freinds is keeping you company.
Love,
Drannor

Sahar Ashia Nekana
She read his letter and sighed, able to see him writing it. Quickly, she pulled out a pen and started writing.
Dear Drannor,
It is good to know that you are still fighting, the news speaks of such things...and I hope none of it is happening to you. Today, I met one of the oddest people around. Though, I think we will become firm friends. Her name is Gem...and she spoke of someone called Auraka. He is heading off today to the war. Is it the same place as you?
Come home soon..
Sahar.

Drannor I sighed as I read that. Finally he was coming. Thank god for that.
Dear Sahar, I am not sure if it will be the same area I'm based in at the moment. There are at least three bases spread out and I will be moving on to another one for a few days once the new group get in here. Then I shall hopefully be on the way home. I know what the news reports would be telling you all back home and though its true, none has befallen me. It is nice to hear that you met Gem. I have heard about her, she's been seen near the base back home a lot. I love you, Drannor

Sahar Ashia Nekana
She clutched the letter to her chest, repeating his words. I love you... he rarely said it, in fact that would only be the 2nd or 3rd time.
Drannor,
I makes good hearing to know that you are safe...I am not sure what I would do if you didn't come home to me. Look after yourself and Auraka, all Gem does is speak of him and what a brave and selfless person he is. I believe you are the same kind of person he is.
I miss you. I love you.
Sahar

Drannor There was certainly a lot of agony in my wrist at the moment. I could not do anything with my right hand at all and there was no point in me trying to write with the other hand my writing would be illegible. They said that I was going to be sent home, and I knew that as much as I had tried, I had failed when i told Sahar I would come home unscathed. Now I had no choice but to be sent home without her knowing.

Sahar
The eyes stared at the mail box, four days...maybe he was busy? Maybe he was being moved and hadn't recieved her letters yet...there was two many maybes. The motorbike paused, ruffling though the letters but he saw her and shook his head, driving off once more. 5 days now..

Gem Hawksong I sighed as I pulled into Sahar's driveway. I'd found out the address a while ago, we were becoming good friends at the moment. There was a heavy thing in my mind though at the moment. I turned the car off and walked up to the front door. It took me a slight pause before I knocked though. I knew there were going to be a lot of questions from her. I knocked and waited.

Sahar. Ashia. Nekana.
She sat, clutching the letters to her heart and stared dumbly at the door. Maybe he didn't want her anymore...maybe he was injured...Yes, that was it, injured. She couldn't bare to think of death as an opition. The eye flicked up, staring at the aged wooden door and sighed. Was she hearing things now? She blinked and the knock came again. Slow, tired strides lead her to the door and unlocked the chain before peering though. 'Yes?" she asked before seeing Gem. Oh! She must look a mess. "Hey Gem..." she said without smiling, though tried to wipe the tears from her cheeks.

Gem I knew that she was worried about Drannor but I had to tell her what had happened. "I heard from Auraka today. He gave me a message to pass on to you. I assume you've not heard from Drannor am I right?"
I sighed. This was not the easiest thing for me to do, to tell her that Drannor was being sent home because of an injury that might cost him the use of one if his hands.

Sahar. Ashia. Nekana.
She nodded sadly, looking over her shoulder and Janie thumped down the stairs towards her. "5 days..." she whispered, leaving the door open and walking back inside. Gem would follow, she was always welcome in this house. Janie paused, looking from her owner to her friend and looked at Gem with wide eyes, nudging her hand and galloped after Sahar. Amazing, how animals knew. "Coffee?" Sahar asked her voice no more than a hushed whisper.
