He nodded, continuing to drive along the road slowly. He was dazed, to much was happening on the same day. He was worried, for them all. Alexa, James, Talila, Lily and Sara...nothing good would come of this he knew it.
They were home and he jumped out of the car quickly, still thinking quickly as he headed upstairs into there home. Cira jumped up at the sight of him, leaping to lick his nose before he pushed her down. "Good girl Cira, good girl," he cooed, patting her soft silky coat.

Alexa Collins I sighed as I got out of the car. So much could go wrong tonight and yet I refused to beleive anything would happen that was bad. I knew Kayson had something planned, but not what.
It was getting late, I would have to go soon to the old bridge. "I have to go soon, I said. "Its getting close to the time."

Kayson nodded sharply, pulling himself from the couch and looked at her. "Come here," he said quietly, pulling her into his arms and just held her. She was his life now, there was nothing he wouldn't do for her.
He pulled away, his face blank enough not to show anything of what he was thinking. "Lets go," he said pulling away and didn't look at her as they headed towards the door.

I sighed, knowing this was not going to be the easiest of nights at all. There was no chance that this was going to be anything but difficult for either of us. Who knew what waited for me at the old bridge? I certainly did not, but all I could really think about was getting my brother back from whoever had him. They knew that I would come for him.
I was sure they were waiting for me to come for him. I could only hope that they only wanted the money. There was no way they could want me dead, could there?
"We'll be fine," I told kayson as I walked beside him.

He nodded sharply, still not looking at her nor talking, instead he grabbed the keys and headed towards the door in a even stride. His mind ran to fast for him to grasp the ideas he was thinking.
James. He reminded himself the reason he was letting her go into danger. A fist clenched, she better come back in one piece or someone would pay for it. At least he knew someone dealing with it, if anyone could they would keep her safe.

I did not say anything as he drove through town again. This was not going to be easy, but I was getting used to hard things to deal with. My father had made that be possible, thanks to his abuse.
I looked out the window for a bit then looked at him. I knew there was nothing to say at the moment, but when we could see the old bridge, I looked around, checking there was no one else around.
"I better go on foot from here," I said softly, my mouth did not move very much this time. Did not want anyone to know he was here. That could only be bad for my little brother if anyone knew I was talking to someone else.

His hand let go of the steering wheel, grasping her hand in silence as he reached across the seats and took her face with his other hand. He met her gaze, kissing her deeply and gently. "You better come back," he whispered, speaking for the first time in ages. His voice seemed choked with emotion and he turned the car lights off. "Go..." he said squeasing her hand and letting her go.

"I don't plan on not coming back," I told him softly. I smiled a little, then got out. I knew he had something planned, but not what. In a way i was glad he had some sort of a plan, seeing as I had nothing in my own mind. That was not something I was pleased about at all.
I sighed though, climbing out of the car and started walking. did not take long before I found the gy waiting for me.
"Almost thought you weren't going to show up, girly."
"Where is he?"
"Your brother?" The guy turned, looking behind him. "About fifty meters from here. He's not hurt."
"Bring him over here and you'll get the money," i replied, not too scared at the moment.
"Money first, girl."
"Why?"

His uncle pulled up in his unmarked car, having turned the lights off a whle back and nodded to Kayson without a sound. The aged policeman pulled a gun from his belt, heading threw the trees and towards were Alexa stood talking to them. He heard them say something about the boy and took the long way around, checking to make sure they were telling the truth. They were, he was sitting there with another few men sitting around the young lad. Backing away, so quietly that they would never of heard him, he went back to where he had started.
Leading the way from the trees, he shot a warning shot behind the mans head. "Drop your weapons and put your hands up," he ordered, eyeing the girl which his young friend had set his eyes on before looking at the crook. As he spoke, about another 6 men surronded the man and another group moved off to collect the boy. "Alexa, get back," he warned,

I made no sign that I had known there were police coming, and i think the guy knew it though he chose not to beleive me. I backed off though, knowing that my father and Jereme would not be here amongst this group. They never were. My father liked to keep out of it where he could. Same went for the other guy.
Didn't take me long to move out of the way, though I wondered where my brother was. I was all too worried about the kid.

"Drop your weapons and put your hands up," he repeated slowly, and the man just glared at him smirking at Alexa. "And we were told you had no balls," he sneered, ignoring the orders. Kayson's uncle shot again, aiming for his calf and hit. It wasn't to kill, merely painful and means he can't get away. As he shot, two of his men dashed forwards and threw him to the ground, handcuffing him.
6 more police offciers entered the clearing, grinning from ear to ear. James followed behind, and each officer had a man in cuffs. "Dad came Alexa," he said seeing his sister and went to stand by her, giving her a hug. He looked around, worry creasing onto his face. "Where's Kayson?" "Right here," Kayson said, entering from behind the group and his uncle sighedm shaking his head. "The plan was for you to stay in the car," he said andKayson shrugged with a smile. "Must of forgotten that part," he said and looked at the man on the ground with disgust.

At least I had not really been worried in the slightest. I wrapped my arms around my little brother, glad he was alright. Then I heard what he said. "Dad? Did he say anything?" I looked down at the kid. He had better not have said any of his usual loathsome things about me.
I looked at the other guys that had had my brother. "I know none of these men at all. They're strangers to me." I shook my head. Of course. Dad and Jereme would not be here. That was not how they chose to work these things.

Kayson wrapped his arms around Alexa, holding her close for a moment and ruffled James hair. "You okay mate?" he asked and the boy nodded. "Yeah Kayson, I'm fine," he said before looking up at his sister. "Nope, nothing." He shot a look to Kayson, who knew that hadn't been the case. "Can we go home now?" he asked

I knew almost immediately that my brother had lied. He was not as good as I was about doing that. I would deal with that though when we were in the car and heading home. I knew he did not want me to get upset, but lying to me would cause that anyway.
Once we were in the car though, I turned and looked at him. "You lied to me, Jacob. You know you can't get away with that when I'm aroudn you. I knew as soon as you said it. What did he say about me this time? Beleive me, I've likely had worse from him."
Kayson knew what I meant be that and so did he. "Lying to me makes me more upset than anything my father could possibly say."

James looked at her sheepishly, Kayson kept on driving and let them deal with things. Though, he understood why James had done it, he also knew how much Alexa hated liers. "Sorry sis...but it wasn't anything nice..." James said quietly, looking at the floor of the car. Kayson glanced over at Alexa, giving her hand a gentle squease. "Deal with it later love, he's been though a lot today...so have you," he murmered, bringing her hand to his lips and kissed it gently.
