He watched he bullet fly though the man in what seemed to be slow motion. As one, the italians dropped their weapons and seemed somewhat upset about the fact of attacking Naina. A few drop to their knees, begging for forgiveness. It was a sorry sight indeed. He gestured for a few men to help the injured.

Somehow killing him that quickly had not been the right thing to do. No one knew that he had forced me into the army in the frst place. A secret that died with him. Only I knew.
Yet I felt no remorse for what I had just done. He deserved to die, but at least Jason would be glad it was not me who was lying there on the ground, dead.
My eyes blazed as I looked away from my fathers crumpled body. He was finally gone from my life. My eyes softened though as I turned to look at the others.

He went to her now, uncaring what they would say. It didn't matter anymore, he would be a general and she would be safe. He stood beside her for a moment before wrapping his arms around her tightly. "You okay?" he asked quietly. Knowing, no matter how much he had deserved to die, it wouldn't be easy to kill your own father.

"It's better this way I suppose. Call me cold hearted, but he deserved that." I knew that this was not something the others would be able to react to all that easily, seeing him hugging me. Not that I really cared. "For me, he's just another enemy. he stopped being my father seven years ago. I care not." Yes I was cold hearted, but that was a needed thing at the moment. I looked up at him, wondering what he was thinking of me now. What i had done was cruel.

He nodded, glad she was okay. He looked down, his own eyes showing only pride and respect for her actions. He lowered his head quickly, pecking her cheek and ignored the wolf whistles from his men behind him. "Talk later," he said with a wink, moving and getting lost in the crowd once more.

I smiled only the tiniest bit at his words. "Now the fightings over. That was the end of it."
I watched as he left me, feeling someone else's eyes on me. I turned to face them, seeing it was the guy who had once loved me. I sighed. "Will you never learn? I moved on!" There was nothing but loathing in his eyes as he watched Jason dissappear. "None of the soldiers on my side will let you hurt him, so get over me!"
I scowled at him and he turned to dissappear himself. My eyes traced him back to his camp though. I did not trust him.
One of the higher ranked Italian's approached me then. I sighed. "What do you want?"
"Naina, none of us wanted to be here. Your father forced us here."
"I wish I did not beleive you, but I do. No one wants to be where we have been." I sighed, looking at him. "I have to get back to my own base. Anything else?"
"Uh... yeah. When you were sent out of our army, you were going to get something. Your father sent you out because he did not want you to get it, instead of him."
"Like?" I raised one eyebrow.
The man reached into his pocket, pulling something out. I opened the silver case, staring at what was inside. "I could have been a General!" I exclaimed.
"Yes."

Jason span quickly, hearing the annoyance and sharpness in her tone and paused behind her. "General," he repeated slowly before smiling warmly, knowing she would once more easily gain the rank.
His gaze flickered to the man, before returning ti Naina, asking without words who he was. For, both times he had seen him, Naina had been somewhat louder and more pissed then normal.

Naina Collins "I know you guys want me back but that just won't happen, old freind. I'm sorry but I found where i belong, though it gladdens me that you are not as like minded about me being labelled as a traitor to all of you at all." I smiled at the guy who had been talking to me. "Get going."
He headed off.
I then turned to look at Jason, knowing what he had asked without words. "That guy would have been one that said he loved me once, but dumped me when he found out i was in the army. I tried to hide that from him, because I knew he hated those who were constantly out there in the fighting.

His hand clenched slightly at her words, a feeling he had never felt before. He wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her close for their secert was already out. "And so the tables have turned," he said and looked at her with his normal 'Jason' smile. He kissed her gently pulling away with a sigh. "You know, you could of taken that..." he murmered quietly, though he was glad she hadn't. "Don't get me wrong though, I am glad you stayed...but general is something you deserve...and you will get it..but in time you'll make it again..." he stopped, knowing he sounded like an idiot.

Naina Collins I smiled, returning the kiss gently. I knew though that others were aware now of who I was to Jason, but I cared not. Auraka had been the first to figure the pair of us out, and since then I had not really cared. "I know I could have if I had wanted to. But that is the thing, there are two places I wanted to be, and I chose the one that was more important to me. I did want to go back but only for a second. I stayed because this is my life now, here with you and all the others. For once I have chosen my own path, and this is where it led me. There is no chance of me leaving any time soon.” I smiled at him, happily. He knew that I was going to stay on as long as he did. I could not break him in such a fashion. That was not something I was capable of in the slightest. Plus, who was I to leave the men who had finally began to trust me, without worrying that I might turn on them at any moment? That was something I could never give up. “I think I'll wait until I get that rank again, here instead. He gave me that as a way of remembering who I really am to all of the other Italian's. There is no chance of me ever wearing those, but I know at least who I really am to the other's who I was forced to leave behind like that.” That was something that made me very happy at the moment. “I care too much for everyone here now, though, so that little gift from them will be stored away somewhere at home.” I smiled. “I think its time we all headed home. There won't be any more fighting, that much I am sure of.” Sure enough one of the planes shot over head, and I looked up. It was Italian. “There go the other side of the fighting, back home to Rome herself.”

He listened to her carefully, shoving his hand into the deep coat pocket and fingered some thred inside "Well," he said when she finished "thats good I guess...cause I don't think I can get a refund on this." He smiled slightly, pulling a box from his pocket and pushed it into her hands. "I know its not the most romantic of places," he grinned and pecked her cheek "but it seemed right.. I could always take it back and try again later." He shrugged slightly, but the hopefulness was clear in his gaze.
"Naina Collins," he said after a pause once more "will you be my Naina Lewis?"

Naina Collins I smiled at him, unable to beleive what he had just asked, though in a different way to most other guys. There really was no doubt in my mind that there would never be anyone else who I was happy with like I was with him. "Of course I will. You know I love you."
I paused. "Though I'll have a fair bit of work to do over the phone when we get home. There are a lot of my family still alive, including another Jason, who is my mother's brother." I chuckled. "That will get people confused, I am fairly sure."
Not that I really cared about that to be honest. They would get over it, I knew that much.

Jason blinked slowly, looking at her with an expression of shock passing across his handsome features. Without a word, he grabs her and pulls her close, his lips pressing to hers and ingored the cheers behind him. They were cheering, glad for their friend and now general.
He pulled away, smiling at the few wolf whistles. "I love you," he murmered. His men would follow him wherever, including trusting Naina and her new troops. They would love her as he did, or at least to a level.
He wrapped an arm around her shoulders, leading her gently towards his tent. "Need to ring Auraka," he explained, nodding his head in greeting to a few.

Naina Collins "I know you do." I smiled as he kissed me again. I did not think that was something I was going to get used to any time soon. I loved him too much to care whether i did or not, though. That was something I knew was the truth for me.
However I did wonder at why he needed to call Auraka again. "Didn't you just call him?" I asked. "I'm sure you said you were going to earlier, but then again I guess you did do so, else how would you know that your rank changed?"
Home was something that though I had only been away for a short amount of time, I missed already. I had been glad though that he had kept his word to me since he first left to come out here. That was something I was very happy with him for.

He nodded, the dark hair covering his eyes for a moment. "Yes, but that was before the last fight, I need to tell him the good news," he grinned giving her another gentle kiss. "Were heading home."
He headed over to the desk, scooping the phone into his hands and dialing homebase. "General Auraka." "General, its Jason....were coming home." There was a pause and Auraka could be heard laughing on the other end. "Well done my friend, come home."
Jason grinned, ending the call and going to her once more, pulling her into his warm embrace. "Also, just an excuse to get you to come here," he whispered into her ear, giving her hand a slight squease. He looked over at his portable desk, sighing at the high piles of injury reports. "Well, home we go..." he said grudingly, knowing how much more paperwork that would take.
