Bill laughed with a nod. "'Course," he said and gestured towards the mare beside Prancer's Ness. "Missy here had one of his first colts, pretty little thing," he said as the small chestnut colt came into sight. "Long lets, will make a good runner," he said with a wink.

I smiled as I saw the other foal in the stall next to the one we had been at. "That he should be." At least I knew a few things about my own horses, so I knew what the foals ought to be good for. Sadly some were not good as their parents were.
Look at Phar Lap's parents, they had been duds.. they had foaled a Champion between them. I was looking forwards to getting that stable working. There would be a lot to do when we got back home.

Kayson smiled at the foal, gesturing towards the front right hoof. "He's lame," he said and Bill looked over quickly, entering the stall and approaching the young colt with gentle ease, picking up the foot and tutted to himself. "There's heat..." he said, unable to see any reason for the injury. "Hmm," he said, standing and leaving the stall after giving the mare and gentle pat. "Might have to call the vet...nothing obvious.." he said eyeing as the colt moved with a small yet noticeable limp. Kayson frowned, entering the stall and let the colt approach him slowly and gently let him allowing him to touch the soft chestnut coat. "Come here boy," he mumered, lifting the leg and putting down after a momements study. "Navicular Disease," he said and Bill stared at him. "You sure boyo?" he asked and Kayson nodded. "Though, ask the vet just in case," he replied with a small smile and left the little colt.
"Come on Alexa," he said giving Piper a gentle pat and smiled "we should be letting Bill get some work today."

I already knew that Kayson was good with horses when it came to something wrong with one of their hooves. That did not surprise me when he slipped in and gave a hand for a moment. I smiled, as I watched the pair of them. He seemed good with the foals, and that was something that made me happy. It would be a good thing to know when we started having them coming out ourselves. "We'll see you another time, Bill." He knew i would not forget about him. Never.

"Thanks Kayson," the older man said, clasping a hand onto his shoulder. "You have helped me more then you have known," he said with a small smile and looked away over to Alexa. "Alexa, you have your mothers touch, use it well and I shall have to come and visit and see this breeding farm of yours," he said pulling her into a hug. "I'll be bringing these two over for you," he said with a gesture towards the mare, Piper, and filly. "And you'll need to think of a name for her, she's just known as little Ness at the moment."

"I'm sure we'll find one for her." I smiled, there was nothing more than a challenge in that one. Eventually though I knew we would figure out a good name for the little filly. "Just let us know when you're coming alright?"
Least that way we would have some warning about that. And we'd be able to make sure we would have room for the two of them. I loved any horse we would have eventually.
Sally was going to be selling her business soon, I knew that as well. Well, she was not selling it, she was going to be giving everything to someone.
Me.
