Gem I laughed as I heard his voice. "Over int he back right corner, love!" I called. I was no whre near my desk. This guy had others on him that were going to try and bail him out of the court, therefore we all had to be ready for that. For me that meant that i had to have that little liquid of mine on me. The paralysing one. Gary had already cleared that with the court, I'd be able to have my bow on me. because it was me, who was... once again the target other than the other guy.

He span and chuckled with her, moving his way carefully though the towering piles of paper. "And I thought your house was messy," he said with a grin, manging to catch a pile of papers before it hit the floor.
He came up behind her, resting his hand on her shoulders and leaning down to kiss the top of her head. "How are you?" he asked and gave her buldging stomach a rub "not to much longer."

Gem "I don't always have time to clean up here. It gets pretty busy in here. Most of this is not as important as it used to be, but I need more storage space."
I smiled, putting down what i was doing and twisting around to face him. I moved up onto my toes and kissed him gently. "Like I said, this place is busy at the moment."
I chuckled. "I'm fine, though I foudn something out that has angered everyone. That guy who shot me, his freinds foudn out we've caught him and their going to try and bust him out tomorrow. Gary's had to pull a lot of strings so none of us are unarmed tomorrow."

He smiled warmly, bending his head slightly to look down and meet her gaze. He met the perfect orbs and kissed her once more, a light peck on her lips and pulled away to listen. "I see.." he said, eyebrow rising in a tall arch "I don't want you there if your going to get hurt again...one arrow in the chest was enough thank you."
His tone was still quiet, yet firm. Nothing would hurt her again. Ever. He could not allow it, nor live though it any more. His own life, that was different. He would gladly throw himself off a bridge if it was to safe her, or the children she carried. He just hoped that she wouldn't be annoyed with him for saying it.

Gem "They wont through to me, not before they end up paralysed if it comes to a fight. Out of the whole group going there tomorrow from here, I'm right in the middle, which is the most protected spot. Like I said in that class earlier, If I spot someone going to kill me when I'm really alert to my surroundings, they wont get the chance."
I smiled at him. "They will keep me safe, you know that. What happened before meant they got lucky. It won't happen again."

He cradled her head in his hands, tilting it up slightly and locking his eyes with hers. He was worried, they much was clear. Who wouldn't be when the one they love was in danger of being killed. If someone missed, Auraka knew, they would try again until they hit. "I'm just worried about you," he murmered "thats all."
With a gentle hand, he brushed away her blonde curls and sighed slightly. "I know you must be there, but take it easy okay?" he said gently "and I'll be there..."

Gem "I'll be safe, you know I will. I don't like to intentionally put myself in harms way. I may not be a killer, but I know that I have to skill for it, not that i could even think about killing anyone. That's why i made this little liquid of mine. Its a much easier method for me."
I knew that my aim rarely went wild, he was likely the only one who had ever seen that happen, well he'd seen the after effects of it, onee sprained ankle. "I can still remember the only time my aim went bad, and somehow I';m glad you were not in the clearing until after I hurt my ankle."

Auraka shook his head and sighed quietly, pulling her to his chest and thought for a moment. "I saw more than you thought I did," he said with a chucked and sighed again.
"I love you so very much," he said and kissed the top of her head once more. Gem...what would you say if I was to quit the army? he asked the fighting part...maybe stay on to teach.... Or at least thats what he planned on saying..it just wouldn't come out. She has enough on, he decided.

Gem I smiled up at him happily. Then I sighed. “You probably heard I got a little...err... angry earlier. I had good reason to be. It's not just my family this killer was after. There's another and I'm sad to say that I'm going to have to talk to Naina after tomorrow's over. I've got some bad news for her.”
I could not stop everything, but I knew that if she was warned at least I knew she would be careful. “My mother had a business once. A bookstore. Naina's mother was the other owner of it. Once they were approached with an offer to buy the place out. They refused. I'm guessing that whoever this 'buyer' is, they want revenge so they can take it. It got handed to Hycis when mum died, and then to Elanil. Then me. Luckily the guys aim was bad. Naina has no one else at the moment, to hand it down to. She does not even know about her mum.”

Auraka smiled lightly, knowing fairly well how she acted when things didn't go right. Though, it frightened others, he found it somewhat amusing. Maybe that's why he was in the army, being able to see the humor in fear. He frowned lightly, letting the silence grow between them as he spoke. "So you are saying..that the murder of your family...and Naina's now was over a bookshop?" he asked, unable to believe it. He shook his head slightly. "That must be some books," he said and paused thoughtfully.

Gem "That I am not one hiundred percent sure about but I daresay it is. Thing is the store was in the perfect spot for a mall being built in that place. The buyer was going to knock it to the ground so it could build his mall. There was no offer of a store inside the mall either for the business to be relocated to. That why mum refused. And now look what happened. Far as he knows, I am dead. Bit of a shock for him when he finds out I'm not as dead as I was beleived to be."
I smled though. "At least we managed to stop the guy before Naina got hurt, even if it was at the expense of me being hurt. Not that I really care about that."

His face cleared and he nodded with understanding. "That makes more sense," he said and thought for a moment. He blinked slowly, ordering his thoughts once more. "Do you know anyone else? Or is it just this one?" he asked

Gem i sighed as I thought about that one. "Like I said, I am going to have to talk to Naina about this. There may be people she knows of that I do not in relation to this. She'll talk to me only too easily, but there is the slight problem of not going onto that base of yours without you wanting me over there for a lesson or something."
I smiled at him. "I'll just have to get her to come out of there for a few hours or something, not that its all that easy to achieve." But knowing me, I would think of something, or he would of course. He knew that bases' rules better than I ever would because I was not one of them. Naina as well would have known the rules from her other army life experiences back home.
"Plus I may as well send a note to my dad, telling him about us. He'll be glad to know I am alive still, I'm sure he heard that I got shot at, Gary would have told him. He loves me so much."

He paused thoughtfully, pressed his lips to her hair and nodded slightly. "I can get her out..." he said slowly and blinked at the mention of her father. Rarely, he had noticed, did she speak of family.
He looked at the piles of paper and wringed out a smile. "Come on, you need a break," he said gently, pulling her arm towards the door. "Let's get a coffee or something.."

Gem I smiled up at him. "I guess I do need a break.." Just then an alarm sounded somewhere above me and I glanced at one of the screens... Three words blicked in red across it. LOCKDOWN SEQUENCE ACTIVATED
"Only we can't leave the building. Something's happened up there. Better find out what." I sighed as I made my way towards the stairs, then thought twice about that and pressed a button.
"Gary what happened? What's going on?"
"Someone just broke into here. Their armed, but we may need you up here. Get to where you can easily shoot from because this guy is not listening to us, we need your help."
"I'm on it."
I sighed and turned to face Auraka. "Looks like you'll see what I meant in that lecture about that paralysing thing I have." I smiled. He would know what I meant. "Those stairs are out of use, I'm going to lock the door that blocks them just in case. There is another way out of here, I can get anywhere I want from in here."
I chuckled, as I reached for the bow that not so long ago I had been teaching with. I only took one arrow from the quiver though, and dipped it in the container near my quiver.
"I would not touch the arrow head if I were you. Else you will not be able to move."
