Kayson woke, staring at the roof and smiled. Finally, the world could see Alexa at her best. He rolled over, noting that she was already gone and pulled himself from the soft mattress. He checked Lily, making sure she was still asleep as well as Sara. He smiled, seeing there faces slack with sleep. He headed down the stairs, seeing Alexa with Aiemie in the backyard. "Morning," he called out of the window

Alexa Collins I laughed as i heard Kayson, and waved. Aieme did so as well. I smiled though as she walked over to one of the other stalls. In it was a rather pretty fleabitten grey mare. Turning away from Prince for a moment, I walked over and took a look at the mare. “Who's this then?” “Remember how I used to tell you about the horse I owned back here?” Aiemie asked. She opened the stall door and slipped in. The mare moved straight over to her and head butted her. I thought back to the conversations. *** I walked into my favourite stables, followed by Aiemie. The young Chinese girl was definitely fun to hang around with, she shared my love of horses. “Tell me about the mare you own,” I asked her, again. Somehow I was jealous that she owned a horse whilst I did not. “She's really wonderful. She's a fleabitten grey mare called Harmonious Equation. I usually just call her Harmony though. There's no sweeter horse than her that I have ever met.” I chuckled. “You're so lucky to have your own horse, Aiemie. You don't know how much I envy that in you.” We stopped at one of the stalls that currently housed a young chestnut yearling colt. I was meant to be working with him this afternoon. “We working with Stirling again?” Aiemie asked me. “Yeah, Sally asked me to work with him and get him used to a saddle, but not to someone on him yet. He's still a little young for that.” Stirling though was only the colts name until someone bought him. *** The stallion was as proud as he had every been, but a little unnerved by his surroundings. When I was with him though, there was a noticable calmness in his behaviour. One that went unseen without me.

He smiled at the laughter, it was great to hear such a careful sound from her mouth once again. he found himself laughing with them. He noticed the mare and Prince, both were well cared for.

Alexa Collins I sighed and moved to get the saddle I would need. I was going to give him a workout on the flat, therefore it would be that saddle which I used. Careully I buckled on the dressage saddle, then followed her out to the small ring that she used occassionally for riding and training. As soon as I was in the stallion's saddle, I felt at home. I did not even have to think as we worked our way through the ring, Aimie telling me different things to do with him. Nothing she asked us to do was difficult. I had trained him to do any possible manuover that she could possibly ask.

He yawned, checking the time and sighed. Time to get the kids ready, he decided walking softly back up the stairs. He decided to wake Sara first. "Hey Sara, honey, wake up," he said shaking her lightly. Her bright eyes opened and she yawned. "Okay Kayson..." she said sleepily. He smiled, heading into Lily's room. "Lily," he called, shaking her. She rolled over and sighed. "Lily...come on bub, need to get ready for Mooma's big day," he said and she was awake with a bounce. She jumped to her feet, climbing into his arms before he could stop her.

Alexa Collins When I got back inside an hour later, I headed straight to the room that I was staying in with Kayson. There was definitely excitement in my eyes as I opened the door to our room.
"Good to see you guys are all up now." I was definitely glad about that. We were in for an interesting time tonight. "You guys will see all of the show, I'll see very little of it myself."

Kayson looked up as he saw her, helping Lily dress herself. Seeing Alexa, he stood tall and went to her, arms wrapping around her waist. "You'll be fine," he said, kissing her hair and taking in the horsie scent that often followed her. Lily jumped, tackling her 'Mooma's' legs and clinging tightly.

Alexa Collins I beant down, picking Lily up and smiled. "I can't believe the Games are really here." Now was the time when horse and rider really had to work as one to do their best for their countries. We really were being putt o the test. "Before i forget." I passed him a couple of tickets that were fastened together. "Those are for you five. I wont be sitting with you, but if I can, I'll wave when I get out"

He chuckled, taking the tickets from her hand. "Of course," he said, noting that they actually had really good seats. Right at the front..and in a box? His eyes widened slightly at that. "You'll do Australia proud," he told her, smiling at her proudly.

Alexa Collins
"hey I can only try." I worked my hair into a rather elaborate bun carefully, knowing what I was doing completely. I knew what we were meant to do tonight. I also know where i was in the group of Aussies. Right at the front. With that flag of our.... That was a surprise waiting for Kayson and the others in my family.
I sighed and pulled on the clothing that I had to wear for the Ceremony. Gold shirt and green pants. The Aussie colours. This was going to be fun for me.
We had to travel a little distance to the Olympic Village as that was where the Opening Ceremony to be held.
Someone knocked on the closed door and then I heard Aimie ask, “You ready to go, Alexa?”
I chuckled. “Sure am!”
“Well lets go then, we're gonna be late!”

Kayson smiled, giving her a quick kiss and throwing Lily over his shoulders, much to her delight. They hurried down the stairs, a half asleep James and Talila trailing at the back. Jet lag, they seemed to relize, was a wonderful things. Sara walked behind Alexa, her small hands holding a flag. She smiled at Alexa, so happy to be apart of this family.

Alexa Collins I was a little stunned as I got out of the car in the Olympic Village. There were so many people driving up here. Aimie and I both got out near the stadium, and it was the first time I got to see what she was wearing. What I saw shocked me.
“Why did you not tell me you were competing?” I exclaimed. There was no doubting that what she wore was China's own uniform. How could I be competing against one of my best friends? That was certainly unfair for me. I could never take her on like this.
“Sadly yes. Though i'd never see you as compeition.”
“Still. Different nations. Against each other,” I said tersely. It couldn't be true, could it? There was no mistaking that one. No way could this be possibly happening. “Why did you not tell me that you're one of China's selected people?”
“I did not want to scare you like I just did. I'm sorry, but this is how it is now. Believe me, I've seen that much of your Australian's that there is no chance of me seeing you as competition. Too much of your culture's rubbed off on me.”
She looked at the ground. “I had meant to tell you before now, but you took too long getting ready and talking to your husband, Alexa.”
“Okay, for that you know I am sorry, but I was really nervous when I came back inside earlier. Let's just hope for the best, huh? May the best nation win.”
She chuckled. “Yeah, may the best nation win.”

Kayson looked at Aiemie, not really suprised that she was competeing. Kayson had watched her ride the day before, she moved with a power and grace rarely seen in riders these days. He went to Alexa, wrapping a arm around her waist and giving her a kiss. "That was a suprise," he murmered eyes returning to the tralier as an impactient Prince stomped his hooves. "Might want to get him out," Kayson sugested, going to help the kids.

Alexa Collins I grinned at Kayson. "You guys go find your seats. I'll see you later. I could see the other Australian athletes nearby.
I grinned at Aimie as she moved through the gates towards where the thousands of Olympians were waiting for the rest of their teams. Didn't take me long to find my own team. Yet again, I got another surprise.
“Sally! What are you doing here?” I exclaimed as she came out of the crowd towards me.
“The Equestrian Manager couldn't make it so I was offered the place. I could not turn down such an offer, I wanted to be part of the Olympics again. You don't know how much I've missed the excitement of all of this.”
“Better you than some complete stranger I guess. At least you know what its like to compete for that gold medal.” I laughed. “Not that its all about the medals. This is just another competition, right?”
“Not exactly. When it is the Olympics, it is about winning. There is no time for fun in these events, I'm afraid.”
My eyes widened. “So you mean that though there is going to be fun doing what we have to, the goal is to win?” I took a step back. “I don't think I'm ready for this.”
She stepped towards me and gave me a hug. “Alexa, I've been training you for this the whole time. Though you might have fun out there in the ring, those medal's are within your grasp easily. I was the one who suggested you for a place in the team this year, because I knew that you had the potential.”

Kayson gave her a final kiss, patting her pocket to make sure he had the tickets on him. Lily sat on his shoulders, so not to be stooden on by the mass of people. Sara kept a hand locked onto his shirt, not letting go. Talila and James pushed there way though, trying to keep up. He handed the tickets to the man, weaving his way to the seats and sittting heavily. "Here we are, best seats in the house," he said with a grin.
